VS Physiotherapy Clinic

Try finding a straight answer to this online and you’ll hit a wall. Directory sites quote figures scraped from American clinics. Listing pages show a consultation fee and go quiet on everything after. Most clinic websites skip the topic entirely and ask you to call.

That’s frustrating when you’re in pain and trying to work out whether you can afford to get better.

So here’s the direct version. At VS Physiotherapy, Osteopathy & Chiropractic Clinic, chiropractic sessions run between ₹1,500 and ₹4,500. Below is exactly what moves you within that range, what a session actually contains, and roughly how many you should budget for.

Why the range is this wide

A chiropractic “session” isn’t one standardised thing. Two patients walking in on the same morning can need very different amounts of clinical time and very different equipment.

A straightforward cervical adjustment for a desk worker with two weeks of neck stiffness is a short, focused appointment. A patient with a confirmed lumbar disc protrusion, radiating leg pain and eight months of guarding needs assessment, adjustment, soft-tissue release, dry needling and often machine-assisted therapy — in the same visit.

Charging both the same amount would mean either overcharging the first patient or short-changing the second.

What a session includes

Every appointment at the clinic covers:

  • Clinical assessment — orthopaedic and neurological testing, posture and gait analysis, range-of-motion measurement
  • Diagnosis and explanation — what’s actually causing the pain, shown to you on your own scans or a spine model
  • Hands-on treatment — spinal or extremity adjustment, delivered by Dr. Venkatesh Mishra personally
  • Adjunct therapy where indicated — myofascial release, dry needling, cupping, or Super Inductive System therapy
  • Home programme — the corrective exercises that keep the adjustment from undoing itself before your next visit

The last point is the one patients underestimate. An adjustment relieves the mechanical restriction. The exercise programme is what stops it coming back.

Indicative fee structure

Session typeTypical fee
First visit — full assessment, diagnosis and initial adjustment₹1,500 – ₹2,000
Standard follow-up adjustment₹1,500 – ₹2,500
Adjustment with dry needling or myofascial release₹2,500 – ₹3,500
Complex protocol — multi-region, or with Super Inductive System therapy₹3,500 – ₹4,500

Your exact fee is confirmed at the end of your first assessment, once there’s an actual diagnosis to plan around. Nothing is quoted before we know what we’re treating.

What determines where you land

Six things, in rough order of impact:

  1. What’s wrong. Mechanical neck pain sits at one end. Disc pathology with nerve involvement sits at the other.
  2. How long you’ve had it. Chronic cases involve compensatory patterns across multiple regions, not one restricted joint.
  3. How many regions are involved. Cervical alone is quicker than cervical, thoracic and pelvis together.
  4. Whether adjunct therapy is needed. Dry needling, cupping and SIS therapy each add clinical time and consumables.
  5. Session length. Complex presentations need longer appointments.
  6. Your response rate. Patients who respond quickly need fewer visits — which usually matters more to the total than the per-session figure.

How many sessions will you actually need

This is the number that determines your real cost, and it’s the one worth asking about.

Most acute presentations resolve in 4 to 6 sessions. Chronic conditions carried for months or years typically need 8 to 12, sometimes with occasional maintenance visits afterwards. Post-surgical and neurological rehabilitation runs longer and follows a different plan entirely.

You’ll be given an estimated session count after your first assessment. If you aren’t responding as expected by the third or fourth visit, the plan changes — or you get referred on. Open-ended treatment schedules with no endpoint are a warning sign at any clinic.

On cheaper options

India has no dedicated statutory register for chiropractors the way the UK or US does. In practice, that means anyone can advertise spinal manipulation, and the price often reflects the training behind it rather than the treatment itself.

Spinal manipulation performed without proper assessment carries real risk. Patients with osteoporosis, inflammatory arthritis, spinal cord compression, or those on blood thinners should not be adjusted without screening first. A clinic that manipulates your neck without taking a history is not being efficient — it’s skipping the part that keeps you safe.

Before booking anywhere, ask three questions: what are your qualifications, will you assess me before treating me, and how many sessions do you expect this to take.

Dr. Venkatesh Mishra holds a BPT from Agra University and an MPT in Musculoskeletal Disorders from HNB Garhwal University, with certification in manual therapy, dry needling, Mulligan, Maitland, MFR and osteopathy, and over 15 years in practice.

Chiropractic or physiotherapy — which is cheaper

Per session, physiotherapy is usually less expensive. Over a course of treatment, the gap narrows, because physiotherapy protocols typically run more sessions.

The better question is which one your condition needs. A locked facet joint responds to an adjustment in a way that weeks of exercise therapy won’t match. Post-operative knee rehabilitation needs progressive loading, not manipulation. Most patients at the clinic receive both, sequenced according to what the assessment shows — which is the point of being treated somewhere that offers both rather than one.

Booking

Consultations are by appointment. Call +91 70079 32170 or book online. The clinic is at C-18, Kalyanpur (West), opposite SRM (TATA) Motors, Tedhi Pulia Ring Road, Lucknow.

Bring any X-rays, MRI reports or previous prescriptions you have. It shortens the assessment and sharpens the diagnosis.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the first visit charged differently?
Yes. The first appointment includes a full assessment and diagnosis alongside treatment, so it’s priced separately from follow-ups.

Do I need an MRI before coming in?
No. Clinical assessment comes first. Imaging is requested only if findings suggest it’s needed.

Are packages available?
Multi-session plans are discussed once your session count is estimated, after the first assessment.

Is chiropractic covered by health insurance in India?
Most policies don’t cover outpatient chiropractic or physiotherapy. Check with your insurer directly.
